Most people who know me, know me as a very proud and sexually realized woman who wants to help other women embrace their sexuality. This is probably what initially drew me to boudoir, the fact that nothing was forbidden or off the table. There are no wrong answers and you can fully embrace how much or little you want to sexualize your photos.
Growing up, sex was not a subject that was discussed and that made it seem “dangerous” and “forbidden”. It was inevitably a subject I found in my life before I was ready for it, around the age of 15. My partner was looking for anyone while I was looking for “The One”. This person tried to change me into someone I wasn’t and it left me feeling completely unlovable and affected my relationship with sex.
I ended up having several partners who were just looking for something quick when I was in my mid to late teens and it left me suppressing my sexuality into my twenties. I refused to explore and stayed extremely sheltered, allowing these people who were no longer in my life to have a massive effect on me.
I began working in and eventually managing a sex shop and exploring the kink community as I started university. I suppose you could call it exposure therapy. Honestly, without that job I wouldn’t have gained half the confidence I have today. I allowed myself to learn about different kinks and fetishes, discovering my own. Now I’m a fully realized person, complete with the confidence to express and own my sexuality as part of myself.
